Il Diritto d’Autore si costituisce automaticamente nel momento della creazione di qualsiasi opera che sia dotata di carattere creativo. Riconoscere e gestire tali diritti risulta fondamentale e consente vantaggi economici, anche grazie alla possibilità di accordi di licenza o di cessione.
All’autore spettano sull’opera due categorie di diritti: morale e patrimoniale. Il primo ha una durata illimitata, l’altro dura per tutta la vita dell’autore e per altri 70 anni dopo la sua morte. Scaduto questo periodo l’opera diventa di dominio pubblico.
